Motion Branding Design
Simple Strat is already a HubSpot Partner agency and an inbound marketing agency. So it made a lot of sense to create educational content to help HubSpot users across all skill levels. We wanted to stand out from the rest of the crowd by making the tutorials have as much information as possible without and of the fluffy bullshit. That meant quick intros, a slick presentation, and a couple of hosts that know what they're talking about because they work in HubSpot every single day. Since it launched in May of 2019, HubSpot Hacks has grown to become one of the leaders in the HubSpot education space on YouTube.
Animated logo
When I saw the logo Branden designed, I knew exactly how I wanted to animate it. I love the faux 3D look of the H, but to make sure there was no confusion on what it is, I animated it to rise up from the background. That core animation would on to fuel the rest of the graphics package.
Lower third
The simple design of the logo meant that the rest of the graphics package needed to be simple as well. That held true with the lower thirds I animated. All it needed was a quick text animation that wasn’t too distracting.
Intro and title card
The full color palette doesn’t always get used so I wanted to make sure that I used all the colors in the intro. I also wanted the opening animation to pop in from the middle and basically explode into all the colors. The key was to make sure it wasn’t too overwhelming and not so quick that the viewer has no idea what they are looking at.
YouTube end cards
There's not a whole lot that needs to go into a YouTube end card, but I wanted to make sure it stuck to our branding and was visually interesting enough that a viewer would stick around for those last 10 seconds. The ‘H’ logo pattern makes for a great background that’s not distracting when the end cards pop onto the screen.
